Gold Medal recipient Balbir Singh (96), a prominent hockey player known as Goal Machine has passed away. He had been suffering from various illnesses for the past few days and breathed his last today. Balbir Singh was admitted to his hospital on the 8th of this month and at 6:30 this morning he demise. He has one daughter and three sons.
Balbir Singh, a legend in hockey, won three gold medals at the Olympics. He won gold medals at the Hockey Olympics London (1948), Helsinki (1952) and Melbourne (1956). Balbir Singh is the senior member of all three teams.
Balbir Singh is also the highest goalscorer in the men’s hockey final in Olympic history. It is noteworthy that only Balbir from India was on the list of 16 Legends selected by the International Olympic Committee. On the other hand, sportsmen and film personalities are mourning the death of Balbir Singh. Also, They are of the opinion that his death is not desperate for the country.
