Central Government Announces 15000 Crore
Prime Minister Narendra Mod is planning to extend the lockdown to stop spreading of this corona outbreak. Moreover, the central government has announced 15,000 crores to battle with Corona. The amount announced under the ‘India COVID-19 Emergency Response and Health System Preparedness Package’.
In this 7,774 crores will be spent instantly for COVID-19 operations. The remaining amount will be spent in 1 to 4 years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said with these amount corona testing facilities, PPE kits, isolation beds, ICU beds, ventilators and other emergency equipment will be provided at a rapid pace. Medical and Paramedical staff will also be increased.
According to a statement by the Union Health and Family Welfare Department, the package’s main objective is to accelerate emergency response and reduce the spreading of COVID-19 in India. The package announces the development of diagnostic tests, therapeutic facilities. It also provides the availability of essential medicines for the infected, strengthening of health systems at the national and state level. Also it will help in adequating the new diseases spread in the future.
Laboratories will focus on bio-security preparedness, in addition to improving surveillance operations. These measures will continue under the supervision of central health and family welfare.
