Chidambaram Sent To Tihar Jail For 14 Days
Delhi court today sent former Finance Minister P Chidambaram to Tihar Jail in judicial custody for 14 days, till September 19, after the 2 days, CBI custody was over in the INX Media case. Chidambaram sent to Tihar Jail for 14 days in INX Media case.
Special Judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar sent Chidambaram to judicial custody till September 19, allowing him to carry his medicines to jail. Chidambaram has Z-level security so court-ordered to kept him in a separate cell regarding security measures. With regard to Chidambaram’s plea seeking to surrender in the money laundering case, the court issued a notice to ED.
Interestingly special court granted P Chidambaram and his son Karti Chidambaram anticipatory bail in the Aircel Maxis cases. In the INX case, senior advocate Kapil Sibal is representing Chidambaram.
Kapil Sibal opposed the CBI saying there was no allegation that Chidambaram tried to influence the investigation. He also said Chidambaram was ready to go to the ED custody in money laundering case related to the INX Media case. Why should Chidambaram send to Tihar Jail while he is willing to surrender before ED added Sibal?
