The first death from coronavirus has been confirmed in India. Last Tuesday in Karnataka a 76-year-old man died with a breathing problem. After this, The Indian government has taken the patient’s sample and checked for the covid-19 infection.
Now, The doctors had confirmed he has coronavirus. Also, State Health Minister B Sriramulu tweeted on Thursday the first death has been happened in India due to coronavirus. He visited Saudi Arabia last month and returned on February 29 to India and was suffering from asthma.
On March 6, he first consulted a doctor when he had symptoms of a cold. On March 9, he has admitted to the hospital when his condition worsened. He died on Tuesday night and his samples were taken whether he has died with corona or not. Then it has been confirmed that he has corona yesterday.
In an official note of the department, the deceased has been identified as Mohammad Hussain Siddiqui. Department officials had said, ‘His samples were sent to a laboratory in Bangalore for examination.’ He said that Siddiqui had recently returned from Saudi Arabia where he had gone for a religious visit.
The number of people infected in the country rose to 76 on Thursday after 16 new cases of coronavirus were reported in seven states of India. The Health Ministry said that out of these 16 new cases, 11 cases have been reported from Maharashtra while one case each has been reported from Delhi, Ladakh, Uttar Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh.
