The cyclone ‘Amphan’ storm in the Bay of Bengal has taken a heavy toll. The evening grew more and more violent. It is currently centrally located 730 km south of Paradip Port in Odisha. Also, It will cross West Bengal and Bangladesh on May 20th between Hatai and Digha as said by the Indian Meteorological Department.
There is a chance of heavy rainfall and winds in Coastal Odisha and West Bengal. Also, It will have a speed of 185 kph as per the department.
The center was alarmed as the super cyclonic storm approached the coast of Odisha and West Bengal. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has convened a high-level meeting to review the situation of cyclone ‘Amphan’. The NDRF teams have been asked about the readiness of the NDMA teams and the officials concerned.
Officials told the Prime Minister that 25 NDRF teams were on the field and another 12 were ready. Union Home Minister Amit Shah was also present at the meeting.
