A total of 30,327 students for their admission in Telugu medium government schools. This clearly shows that the impact of ‘Amma Vodi’ scheme has created among the parents. Every year, the state officials run a campaign called ‘Badibata’ to attract students to government schools. But, Amma Vodi program has ensured to reach maximum strength in just 4 days after schools reopened.
Amma Vodi is a major initiative by Jagan’s government which is aimed at providing financial assistance of Rs 15,000 to all mothers who had a white ration card to join their student in schools. Recently, the government clarified it would be applicable to all schools including private schools and extended the scheme for intermediate students also.
Gudivada Mandal of Krishna has set a record with high admission for English medium school 5,351, it is followed by Vijayawada and Machilipatnam with 5000 admissions in each town. Education department officials confirm that same is the case in rest of the districts and it is going to be a handful of work for government school teachers as well.
