Due to the outbreak of corona, the central government had shut down domestic air services, including international air services. Airlines closed for more than a month and a half. Meanwhile, the central government had extended the lockdown till May 31, signaling a relaxation in several areas. Therefore, the possibility of starting air transport services expressed. Finally, the Center has decided to start domestic flights in India. Union Air Transport Minister Hardeep Singh Puri informed about this.
To curb the spread of the corona, the central government had closed the country’s borders as well as state borders. Therefore, the decision to close domestic airlines along with international air transport was taken by the Center on the backdrop of Corona. The Center has decided to start air services at the end of the fourth phase after the completion of three phases of lockdown. Union Air Transport Minister Hardeep Singh Puri tweeted about it.
“Domestic air transport will be started on a part-time basis from May 25. All airport administrations and airline companies have been informed to be ready to start flights from May 25. The rules regarding passenger travel will be issued by the Union Ministry of Transport, ”Hardeep Singh Puri said in a tweet.
Domestic civil aviation operations will recommence in a calibrated manner from Monday 25th May 2020.
All airports & air carriers are being informed to be ready for operations from 25th May.
