EC To Conduct By-Elections For 3 MLC Seats In Telangana

EC To Conduct By-Elections For 3 MLC Seats In Telangana

The Election Commission (EC) is making arrangements to conduct by-election for 3 MLC seats in Telangana state. Three MLC seats in Rangareddy, Nalgonda and Warangal districts will go to poll on May 31. The results will be declared on June 3.

These seats fell vacant after Patnam Narender Reddy and Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy resigned as they got elected to the Telangana Assembly. Konda Murali resigned from MLC post as he left TRS and joined Congress before 2018 Telangana assembly elections. The Election Commission announced poll notification for three MLC elections today.

Filing Nominations for the posts will begin today. Patnam Narender Reddy was elected MLA from Kodangal segment in Rangareddy district in the 2018 Telangana assembly elections against Congress rival Revanth Reddy, Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy was elected MLA from Munugodu seat in Nalgonda district. Konda Muralidhar resigned from the TRS prior to the Assembly election and he joined the Congress party. Patnam Narender Reddy and Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy are MLC’s before elected to Telangana assembly and Konda Murali resigned his MLC post before assembly elections.

Election Commission decided to conduct by-polls for these three vacant MLC posts on May 31.
