Huge Blow To IPL – All Foreign Player Visas Cancelled

According to the news, no foreign players will be available for the IPL 2020 till April 15. Due to visa restrictions imposed by the government due to the threat of the COVID-19 virus.
According to sources, ‘Foreign players who come to play IPL are given visas under the Business Visa category’. Due to the new rules of the government, no foreign player will be able to come to India till April 15. This year about 60 foreign players had to come to India to participate in the IPL 13th season.
Taking the coronavirus outbreak into consideration, the Indian government has canceled all kinds of visas for people coming to India. However, diplomatic visas, official, UN / International Organization, employment-related, project-specific visa holders are exempted. This decision will be applicable from midnight of March 13, 2020, on departure.
t is believed that by April 15, if the situation of the Coronavirus in the country is controlled, then the players can be granted visas. According to the schedule, The IPL has to be played from March 29 to May 24. After this rule, the Governing Council of the IPL is going to hold an important meeting on Saturday,14th March to take a final decision.
