Facebook on Wednesday rolled out its Messenger Kids application to 70 new countries. It can help children deal with the challenges of distance learning and isolation during the virus lockdown. Also India among 70 countries to get facebook’s messenger kids.
“The Messenger Kids app is already there in five countries including the United States. In this pandemic situation, it expanded roll-out, with new features. It has been brought forward owing to countries Facebook’s global head of safety”, said Antigone Davis.
Also said you have to be 13 to join Facebook, this designed for the ages of six and 11. There will be no advertisements in this messenger.
“Messenger Kids is a video chat and messaging app that helps kids connect with friends and family in a fun, parent-controlled space. Today, we’re starting to roll out Messenger Kids to more countries and we’re adding new choices for parents to connect kids with friends.”
With supervised friending, children can issue and accept contact invitations. However, parents will still be notified and can choose to override. Approved Adults means that parents will be able to grant specific individuals the ability to add their children to groups mainly for teachers.
Easier connections are facilitated by giving parents to make their child’s name and profile photo visible to a select group. Parents can also add and remove contacts. But facebook’s privacy policy still gives the company plenty of room to collect personal data.
This app will give a good fight to zoom as kids are connecting for online classes. Facebook will concentrate more on new countries including India among 70 countries to get facebook’s messenger kids.
