India Loses Semi-Finals
The Indian cricket team, Men in blue were out of the tournament with a disappointing performance in the semi-finals of the ICC world cup 2019 and lost to New Zealand at Manchester by 18 runs.
After resuming the match in the next day after the rain stopped the match on 9th the BlackCaps made 239 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 50 overs. In chasing the low score, India made a poor start. Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli the top three batsmen were dismissed for 1 run and India were struggling at 5 runs for the loss of three wickets. New Zealand fielding was a top-class they restricted India from making runs.
Rishab Pant, Hardik Pandya have resisted for a while but New Zealand kept taking wickets at regular intervals. Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni batted for some time giving hope for but once again New Zealand bowlers struck at the right moment. Jadeja was dismissed by Boult and Dhoni was run out in the 49th over. India was bowled out for 221 runs finally. Team India led by captain Virat Kohli was out of the tournament.
