Manohar Parrikar No More

Goa: The chief minister of Goa and BJP senior leader Manohar Parrikar died today evening due to longlasting battle against pancreatic cancer at the age of 63. He served as Goa chief minister for 4 times he is well known for his simplicity he breathed his last at his residence in Goa.

Parrikar was born in Mapusa in the state of Goa in 1955. Parrikar studied at Loyola High School, Margao. He graduated in metallurgical engineering from the prestigious IIT. He is also a former Defence Minister of India under BJP government. He is sick from the past February and also treated in Mumbai, Delhi and New York after diagnosed with cancer. He is survived by two sons Utpal and Abhijat and his wife passed away in 2000.

After the shocking news, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Said on Twitter that “Shri Manohar Parrikar was the builder of modern Goa.thanks to his affable personality and accessible nature, he remained the preferred leader of the state for years. His pro-people policies ensured Goa scales remarkable heights of progress,”

Paarikar’s final rites will be held at Miramar Goa at 5 pm on Monday, the central government declared national mourning on Monday.
