Against this backdrop, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level meeting in Delhi with National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, Trilateral Chief of Staff Bipin Rawat, Army, Air Force, and Navy Chiefs. The meeting seems to have mainly focused on the attitude of the Chinese military at Ladakh.
Modi had earlier met with Foreign Secretary Harshavardhan Shringla and discussed the same issue. Also, Union Defense Minister Raj Nath’s visit with Bipin Rawat, the commander of the three forces, the Navy, Air Force, and Army chief, indicates the seriousness of the problem. In Delhi, there is a feeling that something is happening as government officials hold consecutive emergency meetings.
