Telugu veteran actor Mohan Babu has been sentenced one-year jail by Erramanjil Court, regarding a cheque bounce case and Court also ordered to pay the penalty of Rs 41.75 lakhs.
As per sources, Mohan Babu issued a cheque for director YVS Chowdary as an apart remuneration for the film “Saleem” and the cheque bounced. Despite several attempts, Mohan Babu didn’t clear the payment after that YVS Chowdary approached the court. later Mohan Babu applied for bail and the court granted him bail.
Manchu Vishnu’s “Saleem” was directed by YVS Chowdary as Ileana D’cruz is the female lead made with a huge budget of Rs 25 crores above the market value of Vishnu ended up as an all-time disaster. Mohan Babu was not interested to pay the remaining remuneration to YVS Chowdary after the film ended up as a huge flop. Collection king Mohan Babu issued a cheque of Rs 48 lakhs for YVS Chowdary in 2010.
Mohan Babu recently in the news for staging a dharna in Tirupathi regarding fees reimbursement and later joined YSRCP in presence of YSJagan.
