Mudragada Letter To Amit Shah:
Kapu reservation is a hot topic in Andhra Pradesh where political parties hugely depend on Kapu vote bank. Earlier TDP did some sort of justice by giving 5 percent of the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) 10 percent reservations for Kapu community. By dividing 10 percent general quota given by the Center. Currently, AP CM Jagan government scrapped it for administrative and political reasons.
Prominent Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham who is fighting for inclusion of the Kapu (caste) in the Backward Class (BC) category has targetted the BJP on the quota issue. He wrote an open letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah to immediately approve of the Kapu quota issue which is presently pending before his ministry. This move irked BJP as the Andhra Pradesh state BJP head is also a Kapu leader(Kanna Lakshminarayana).
In the current situation while BJP is emerging slowly in the state Mudragada’s open letter is a giving tough challenge to Amit Shah. We have to wait and see how Amit Shah responds to the letter.
