The Polavaram chief engineer was removed, M. Venkateswara Rao the Cheif Engineer of Polavaram was removed by the Andhra Pradesh government this was an extreme step taken by the government while the issue is going on re-tendering process.
Venkateswara Rao is working for the Polavaram project for 15 years and he was also chief engineer during the late YS Rajasekhar Reddy government. YSRCP government decision removes the chief Engineer was a shocker. Union Jal Shakti(Hydel Power) Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat is expected to take a final call on the re-tendering process.
Venkateswara Rao is removed from the membership of the Polavaram Project Authority(PPA), which is under the control of the Central government. This decision is made after PPA Chief Executive Officer RK Jain objected to APās re-tendering process. AP CM YS Jagan in his recent visit to Delhi met Shekhawat and asked him to allow Andhra Pradesh to go for re-tendering. But Shekhawat has said that he would decide only after studying the report submitted by the Project Authority.
Venkateswara Rao was replaced by Sudhakar Babu who is also made a member of the Project Authority now by this sudden decision, YS Jagan is hinting that he is willing on the re-tendering process.
