EC Ordered Re-polling In 5 Polling Stations In AP On May 19

Re-polling In AP On May 19

The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Wednesday ordered for re-polling in five polling stations in Chandragiri assembly constituency in Chittoor district on the recommendation of state election officials.

Five polling booths in Andhra Pradesh will go for re-polling on May 19, when the last phase of National Elections will be held in different parts of the country. The re-polling will be for both Assembly and Parliamentary constituencies between 7 am to 6 pm.

The re-polling will be held in Kammapalli, N R Kammapalle, Pulivarthipalli, Kothakandriga and Venkatrama Puram villages in Chandragiri constituency and the re-polling booth numbers are  321, 104, 316, 318 and 313.

Based on the complaint by sitting MLA from Chandragiri and YSRCP candidate Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, that voters of one particular community were not allowed to cast their votes on April 11. In addition, other complaints were received from many other sources said AP State Cheif Electoral Officer Gopal Krishna Dwivedi. On this, Gopal Krishna Dwivedi asked the Chittoor collector to inquire about the complaints and based on it, and repolling has been declared.

On the other hand Telugu Desam Party state unit president, Kala Venkat Rao met Additional. CEO Sujata Sharma and objected for a re-poll based on YSRCPs complaint.

Earlier on May 6, repolling was held in five polling booths over three districts in Andhra Pradesh.
