Russian Plane Crashed On Runway 41 People Killed
In a deadly incident Sukhoi Superjet 100 a Russian Aeroflot flight which started off from Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport made an emergency landing. The plane finally slammed into the runway and burst into flames claiming 41 people killed on board. This devastating video on the same that shows burning of Aeroflot aircraft is viral on the internet.
The statement by survivors was that the plane was struck by lightning, but Russia’s national carrier said it returned to the airport for technical reasons. Among 41 expired people, there were 2 children. The jet has a total of 73 passengers and five crew members.
In the beginning, it is reported that the plane had landed on fire, but sources later quoted that the jet caught fire after a very bumpy landing.
“There are 37 survivors – 33 passengers and four members of the crew,” said Yelena Markovskaya, an official involved in the investigation of the crash. Moreover, a flight attendant was also reportedly killed in the incident. Coming into details, the flight crew sent a distress signal when “malfunctions” occurred in bad weather shortly after take off. After landing off, the plane’s engines caught fire on the runway and the crew said that they did everything to save the passengers.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed his deep condolences to the families of deceased and the region of Murmansk has announced a three day mourning period.
