The much-awaited Indian film of the year, Saaho which features Prabhas, Shraddha Kapoor, Chunkey Pandey, Jackie Shroff, and Neil Nithin Mukesh is all set for a grand release over 10,000 screens worldwide with huge expectations. Saaho is the costliest action film made on a massive budget of 300 Crores, Saaho has been the talk of the town ever since the spectacular trailers released with high action sequences done with Hollywood stunt choreographers. Let’s see whether Saaho lives up to the expectations or not.
Story:
Underworld don Roy ( Jackie Shroff ) and his enemy Devraj ( Chunkey Pandey ) live in a city called Waaji, where the movie is based. The Old mafia don Roy hides the whereabouts of his son to protect from enemies. Back in India, a 2,000 crore robbery is under investigation by undercover agent Ashok Chakravarthy ( Prabhas ). Ashok and Amrita (Shraddha Kapoor ) chase Jai ( Neil Nitin Mukesh ) in the robbery case. The robbery is linked to the Waaji city dons. The rest is the story.
Analysis:
A striking “Waaji City” is introduced in the opening scene after that introduction, a parallel story in India begins on a slow note. Prabhas entry scene is not much engaging, fans will definitely disappoint with the entry scene. An undercover cop investigating a high profile case gives some hope and excitement and follows the good twist at the interval, the first half of the film is routine. Prabhas costumes and looks are not up to the mark.
“Ye Chota Nuvvunna ” song visuals are good, “Psycho Saiyaan “song is very boring on the screen. The ‘ Bad Boys ‘ song picturization is very good. Then follows some scenes with poor screenplay action scenes or graphics scenes shot in Dubai is just ok which are said to be highlight before the movie release. VFX shots are poor, then another story about “Karana village” begins. After that flashback has been revealed in bits n pieces with a poor climax.
Ghibran background is good, UV Creations production values are lavish but the budget wouldn’t be 300 Crores as said by the makers. Director completely missed out utilizing Prabhas’s pan India star image. Hero Characterization is very dull and poor. Dialogues are not effective, Performances by lead actors Prabhas, shraddha Kapoor, and Neil Nitin Mukesh are just okay. A stellar star cast is wasted.
Positives :
Interval Twist.
Pre-Climax Action Scene
Background score
Negatives :
Boring and flat narration
Story and Screenplay
Prabhas Image not utilized
Verdict :
Saaho is not up to the Expectations. Dull Saaho!
