Special Trains Started To Help Migrant Workers

The lockdown continues across the country due to the Coronavirus. Due to the lockdown, migrant laborers and students are stranded in different parts of the country. So, In order to help these migrants railways have started special trains for them.

The first special train from Telangana to Jharkhand with 1200 workers stranded in Telangana has started. However, The next special train date hasn’t announced by the railways. Director-General of Railway Protection Force(RPF) Arun Kumar said, there are about 1200 migrants in 24 coaches of special trains started from Telangana. A decision will be taken today on how many trains need to run to help the migrant workers. He told media that the train opened today at 4:50 am from Lingarapalli in Telangana, which is going to Hatia in Jharkhand.

In fact, there is constant pressure on the central government by the states to return the laborers and students stranded in other states due to lockdown. States like Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, and Bihar have demanded special trains to run from the center. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Thursday urged the central government to run special trains to bring back their citizens.

Finally, The government has responded and opens special trains to different parts of the country. Migrant workers finally had some relief.
