Telangana Police Killed Maoist In Encounter

Telangana Police killed Maoist in encounter in Telangana and Chhattisgarh border in Bhadradri Kothagudem district on Wednesday, police said. District Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sunil Dutt said that the firing took place in Bodugu forest area near Chhattisgarh border when a group of Maoists is moving in the area based on reliable inputs about the movement of five to six Maoists led by the CPI (Maoist) Manuguru area committee commander Ravi in the forest firing areas.

The encounter occurred when Telangana police were conducting combing operations in the deep forests. There were no casualties police said. They were trying to establish the identity of the dead Maoist, and a combing operation was underway to track down those who escaped. Police recovered two weapons from the scene.
