TRS Party received a shock with the party-supported three candidates lost elections in (MLC) Legislative Council elections.
Senior Congress leader T. Jeevan Reddy was declared elected from Karimnagar, Adilabad, Nizamabad, Medak graduates constituency as the counting of votes ended in the early hours today. Jeevan Reddy, who was defeated in Assembly elections from Jagtial (Nizamabad district), trashed his rival Chandrashekhar Goud of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) by a majority of 39,430 votes.K. Raghotham Reddy of Progressive Recognised Teachers’ Union (PRTU), supported by the Congress, won Karimnagar, Adilabad, Nizamabad, Medak teachers constituency. He won over former MLC Paturi Sudhakar Reddy, supported by the TRS.
MLC P. Ravinder former MLC was also defeated in Nalgonda supported by TRS in Nalgonda, Khammam, Warangal teachers constituency. United Teachers’ Federation (UTF) candidate A. Narsireddy, supported by the Congress and the CPI, won the seat.
This is a major shock for the ruling TRS party.
