Uddhav Thackeray CM Post in Dilemma

Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray might lose his CM post soon. He was elected as CM without any membership in the legislative council. However, If he wants to continue on CM post he needs to be elected as MLA or MLC withing six months. Six months’ time will end on May 28.

In the current circumstances, there is no chance of being elected as an MLA. But, If an MLA resigns he will become an MLA by holding by-elections. However, Due to corona there is no chance that an election post.

But there is another chance for Uddhav to continue as CM. At present, In the Maharashtra government there is a vacancy for MLC. If anyone wants to be an MLC in this they need to get a recommendation from MLC. However, it is not ethically possible to recommend himself to be an MLC.

Now, a Cabinet meeting held by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar yesterday. They asked Uddhav Thackrey to not attend this meeting. According to the reports, The cabinet sent a proposal of Uddhav Thackrey to become an MLC to the Maharashtra governor, Bhagat Singh Koshyari. If he approves this then there is no tension for Uddhav Thackeray.
