International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday discussed different contingency plans for their major tournaments, including the T20 World Cup and the World Test Championship, in view of the Covid-19 epidemic. On behalf of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly participated in this meeting through video conference while it was speculated that the former chairman of the board would participate in it.
However, Due to the outbreak of coronavirus, he has participated through video conference. The outbreak of deadly coronavirus has brought sporting activities to a standstill. Many bilateral Test series under the World Test Championship has to be canceled. So, The ICC is looking for the other options and the points table theory.
Some board members feel that there is no threat to the T20 World Cup in Australia as October is far away. A senior official said, “If things come under control by June, then we can work on a special emergency plan.”
